If your garden is a priority in your life, then you are ready for the       Museum of Fine Arts St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts Membership Garden gets a little brighter with some new plants and by moving a familiar urn. This stand of lady palm (Rhapis excelsa)was the first thing seen as one entered the garden. It seemed a dark and overbearing plant. We removed the tired old jasmine and dark crotons in front of it and added plants with brighter foliage. We then placed this beautiful Medici urn (already in the museum collection) into the bed to make the dark green foliage "pop". On each side of the urn is a Red Sister ti plant. Below the ti plants are Mrs. Iceton croton, whose foliage is variable from pink to green to deeper tones. Along the front edge of the bed is a cultivar of Joseph's coat (Alternanthera) called 'True Yellow' which is lovely and bright. At the base of the urn are two 'Mend' bromeliads, whose foliage echoes the colors in the urn; pink, green and yellow.
